A few people have been concerned about me and Addison lately. So wanted to give a quick update.
I was in the hospital over the weekend. I came down with the flu- you name it I had it related to the flu. After several hours in the middle of the night, I finally woke Jason for help. He called the ER for advice and was told to take me to the family delivery center so they could monitor.
BEST DECISION EVER! Seriously.
I was given a couple of doses of Zolfran, an anti nausea medication. I was given at least 5 or 6 bags of IV fluids. In addition to a few other medications to help reduce the acid and help me overcome the flu. I stayed about 30 hours there. The nurses were AWESOME!
I was exhausted and tired for a few days after. However, I'd much rather be tired than sick! However, Hannah was sick a few days before me, for a few hours. Jason was sick Sun-Tuesday. So our family has been through the ringer this last week in terms of illnesses!
Thankfully my parents were free to take Hannah Saturday and overnight for us so I could get better and rested. And thankfully they have not been sick yet! However, our neighbors have come down with it- though odd it took a week to hit them from the last contact we have had with them, when it took us just a few days. But none the less, its just an awful flu to get.
Otherwise Addison and I are just fine. I am 35 weeks pregnant. I go to the Dr. 2x a week now- for monitoring. Mostly to make sure that Addison is doing well and not stressed, or getting to large. Every monitoring has been normal and she continues to look healthy. My blood pressure has been in control more so with this child than it was with Hannah.
My diabetes has stabalized- though we continue to monitor it closely to ensure that it will not cause any problems for me or Addison. I have been on insulin for over a month and though I'm not a huge fan of self shots, have become a quick pro at dosing and giving myself the needed medications to ensure that we are all health. I continue to eat a diabetic friendly diet, needless to say I'm missing a few favorites! Pasta. . . sushi. . . mmmmm- looking forward to after birth so I can partake in a few favorites.
We are prepared for Addison- Hannah's overnight bag and Addison's bag are both packed. Mine is well in process. As for Jason. . . well he's on his own. But then again we live only 15 mins from the hospital so he can always run home and get what he needs/wants.
Addison's pack n play is up and ready for her arrival. Hannah has shown some excitement related to the bed being up in our room. She likes to show visitors where Addison is going to sleep. Hannah has been showing positive feelings towards the idea of Addison- however we all know that the actual event may come with some negative feelings from her as she has been the only child for 3 1/2 years in our family.
The babies car seat is in the van, just in case.
Jason's on call. . . moments notice!
My parents are on call. . . moment's notice!
I'm ready- okay, maybe one or two more weeks- but really I'm ready. I'd like to be able to fit back into some of my clothes, and really would like to be done with the pregnancy aches and pains! But I will endure just as long as needed for this bundle of monkey joy!
Here's to Addison joining us soon!
