6 Month Check Up

This morning the three of us headed to meet our new doctor for Hannah's 6 month well baby check up. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that for the first 2 years there are no copays for well baby check ups. Sometimes I love my insurance and other times I hate it!
Anyways.... wait in the lobby for about 10 minutes (we were early). Back to the exam room. Hannah gets naked and weighed... 17 pounds 4 ounces (75th %). Then her head is measured (around 16 cm, 49%), and measured lenght wise... a whopping 28 inches (2 feet, 4 inches, off the charts, 100%). The nurse leaves, dr comes in a few minutes later.
I like this Dr a lot! She had Hannah talking to her and laughing (always a good sign). She asked about how Hannah has been. Gave some answers to a few questions we had, and supported us feeding her the way we have been. She did a check of her teeth and confirmed that there is some ridging, but could still take a while for them to pop through. She checked Hannah's breathing, ears, eyes and hips... all looked good.
Dr left, Nurse back in. Nurse came with shots... 4 of them to be exact. This nurse was fast, in about under 1 minute, she had given Hannah all the shots. Hannah cried, of course, but not too bad, she was consolable and glad when I picked her up. She was asleep by the time Jason dropped me off at work about 15 minutes later.
She's been clingy and a bit grumpy today, but for the most part in a good smily mood- so that's always good when she's acting that way after shots. Of course wanting to interact and have our attention.
We even added peas to our food list this week... :) Hannah now eats applesauce, pears, carrots, sweet potatoes, guava, apples/cheeries mixed, bananas, green beans and peas. With some rice cereal mixed in. And of course for the main course formula. We have been encouraged to give her 2-3 meals of solids daily, we had been doing at least 1 time daily, and occasional 2nd time here and there. But now we moving towards more and more solids.
Hannah is trying to get moving, she's got the backwards movements down and scoots around. She can get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth.
She's a growing girl and way fast!
Loves, J.

We knew she was gonna be tall. Check your baby book to see how tall you were at 6 months, I think she has you beat! Big girl but sounds oh so healthy and happy.
