I believe it's official- Hannah enjoys school. She has been making friends with the various children that hang out there. She seems to enjoys the teachers. There is a learning element in this really relaxed setting. There seems to be no pressure, but lots of love and learning happening. She has caught on to the potty training so well. Maybe being around several older children is working for her! She doesn't even tell me know when she needs to go, she just walks into the bathroom and goes! Granted she has accidents of the messy kind on occasion, but she'll get it.
Hannah hung out with Grammy and Papa on the weekend. I got a nice break for kid related things. Though I missed her. It was a bit lonely in our house. Jason being gone all the time is wearing thin I think. I know that this is supposed to be temporary- a year. We are half way there- 6 months. But even if he gets a year under his belt there is no guarantee that he can find something locally though we'd love to hope! I am not sure I understand how people make a living at this job since his income some weeks isn't even enough to cover his own expenses on the road. So we have talked about him becoming a trainer so that he can earn a bit more income (as he would get paid for his trainee's miles and his own)- so that would be nice.
I need to get to it and be studying for my oral exam in March- that test to gain my CADC-II opens the door for me to become a CADC supervisor for my agency. CADC is Certified Alcohol Drug counselor- it's a certification for Oregon. Again benefits come with this along with opening the door to an experience that I wish to have and move into.
I enjoy my job and that our supervisor allow myself and the other case manager to decide amongst us how we wish to do things. I enjoy that we get to work independently as a team if that makes any sense. There is flexibility and creativity flowing among the staff. I'm even more excited to hear that the office that we had hoped I'd be moving into in September is going to be finished in the next 2-3 weeks and I will finally have my own space. Don't get me wrong I don't mind sharing the office with the intern and the Dr. But it causes me to have trouble concentrating and getting work done. I have learned I do well with my own space where I can focus. So I'm looking forward to that soon.
Anyways- I'm rambling tonight.
Goodnight.
