To diapers that is!
Hannah is beginning a new daycare/preschool on Monday. So about 2 weeks ago I decided that over the holiday's since I would have multiple days off I would focus on potty training Hannah.
Today marks day 1 of no diapers. We prepared for this by yesterday going to Walmart and I allowed Hannah to pick out two packages of big girl underwares. She picked out Dora and Minney mouse. So she was excited this morning to get to pick out the underware that she would wear.
I had heard stories that I should expect a lot of messes and accidents. But I was determined to not buy any diapers for Hannah in 2011! So we began the journey. 15 minutes into her wearing the big girl underwares. . . well she an accident of the messy kind. Thankfully easy to dump into the toilet and flush- but not really that fun! She remained dry the rest of the morning until right before lunch when I got busy in the kitchen and she had an accident.
I was worried we would go through all 20 of the underware we had purchased. But thankfully we have only gone through 8 pairs. I have only done 3 loads of laundry today- one was bedding from nap time. YUP no diaper at nap time either. However, I am putting her into a diaper for sleeping at night b/c I don't want to wake in the middle of the night to change her and her bedding just yet.
So far I feel good about this. We did manage to leave the house for 45 minutes this afternoon and she stayed dry in her underware. Though trust me I did have extra everything in her diaper bag. Wait can I call it a diaper bag if there are no diapers in it? Or do we call it an underware bag? That doesn't sound right. Guess I will just have to call it "Hannah's backpack".

chuckle, chuckle, chuckle. I recall that even when they get to be 5 - 6 - 7 sometimes there are accidents. A good mom is always prepared for whatever!!!
