Words. . . and more words!

I can not even begin to keep up with the language that my daughter is gaining. Today I heard her repeat "paper" and "army". It seems that every day there is a new word that we hear her repeat and use. It is beautiful.

We pull into our parking space at the apartment and from the back seat I hear "Houshe, houshe". I can say want to go for a walk, or go to the park, or go play and she will go find her shoes and bring them to me, knowing that in order to leave she must have her shoes and coat on. Strangley she also knows that we only put on shoes when we are leaving the house, and when her's are on, she bee lines it for the front door!

In 6 weeks I will have a 2 year old daughter!! AHHH. That just blows my mind right now to think about that.

On and tooth number 13 is coming through on the top right side (her eye tooth). I can hardly believe that in 11 months she's cut 12 teeth/nearly 13. She says teeth, and on occasion will allow me to brush them, though she would much rather chew on her toothbrush, which is somewhat of a sight to see.

She's becoming more and more able to verbally ask for what she needs or express how she's feeling. Tonight Jason was gone and it was almost bedtime, 8pm. She's got her blanket and dolly in hand and found a picture of a towtruck (one that Jason had printed out) and she's saying "Daddy home, Daddy home" while crying. Obviously she was missing daddy and needing some daddy time.

Oh and this week she learned how to say Stefanie. Sounds more like Stebbanee or Stebbee, but she knows she really does.

I'm enjoying watching her grow and learn. There is always something new for her to learn. She's starting to be able to help a bit, with being able to put her shoes away, throw garbage away, put her dirty cup in the sink and on occasion help pick up her toys.

I'm hearing stories of some of the other girls born within weeks of each other transitioning to big girl toddler beds. That's our birthday gift to Hannah is a big girl bed. She hasn't figured out how to get out of her crib yet- so we might actually make it to her second birthday, we will see. But I am nervous about having her in a bed. We have begun to talk about what will need to do to ensure she doesn't wander the apartment at night when she wakes up. So far all we have come up with is having her door with a baby gate on it, which at some point she'll learn to climb over.

Both Jason and I are having feelings of change lately. Not sure what they mean or what the change will be, but just feels like something big is going to happen in our lives that will change our lives drastically. We are open to the possibilities, but we just aren't sure what, when, where or why. I don't know it's hard to describe but either way we know there is something out there calling our names.

I am looking forward to March and the spring. The last week or so having nice weather that allows us to take Hannah to playgrounds and parks has been fun. She really enjoys the slides and will play until she's being drug away. And then she sleeps so well at night. The fresh air and expulsion of energy is widely beneficial for her and us at nighttime.
