Day 2- Countdown Begins

Good Morning to Day 2 of Elf on the Shelf-

This morning we found Jackie hanging out on our dining room table. She had found my scissors an was cutting up paper strips.

She left a note that stated "Hannah- Please make a chain to count down the days to Christmas! I've marked some papers with lines so you can practice cutting. Your mom can hlpe you with the rest. Love Jackie.
Ps- Thanks for the great name."

See the other decorations in our dining room.

Hannah got to practice her cutting skills. She is doing very well learning how to use scissors. She was able to cut really close to the straight lines. She did a great job.

She did most of the chain work herself. I just stapled.

We have 31 days until Christmas according to my quick counting. This is what 31 days looks like in a chain. It's bigger than Hannah.
So now every night before bed Hannah will get to take one of the rings off to count down until Christmas.

We spent part of yesterday decorating. Other than lights and tree we have our Christmas decorations out. We won't be getting our tree for probably another 2 weeks. I agreed that this year we could have a real tree, instead of our fake tree that we have had the last 4 to 5 years. So that meant that instead of putting up the tree this weekend, we are going to wait a bit.

Jason totally thinks I'm crazy for all the Elf on the Shelf items, but I think this is fun. I think it's fun to see the excitement on Hannah's face. As well as being a great way to introduce the various crafts and projects that I would like to do with the girls this season.

Love, J.
