Friday October 22nd, I had a rough week at work and decided to work from home. Hannah went to sitters as usual. I worked a few hours, got caught up on a few things, ran a few errands and picked up Hannah.
We were headed to Kent to visit. . . Sarah (secretly I call her Gumby just about every time I think of her- it's her camp name!). Hard to believe that Sarah and I met 11 years ago. We had 2-3 years of being close friends and then drifted. A year ago she found me through facebook and we reconnected! Since then we have maintained a friendship unlike any other I've had. We can go weeks maybe even months without talking and yet when we do it's like we never stopped! We pick up right where we last left off. It's a unique friendship and I feel blessed to have Sarah in my life. I had yet to make a trip up to her neck of the woods and meet her husband.
Hannah and I piled in the car. We stopped in Kelso to say hello to Grammy and allow Grammy to show off Hannah to the gals at work! Hannah was ready for a nap and not her usual talkative self. Oh well.
Back in the car, and away we went. Hannah played for about 10 minutes in the back seat with her barbies. The next thing I know I look back and I see---

Hannah covered herself in her car seat and went to sleep! She slept like this for nearly 2 hours! The ride was so quiet on the way there.
Friday night we just hung at Sarah's, enjoyed pizza, some wine, and chatting while Hannah watched Monster's Inc and something else (Sarah's collection of Disney was impressive!).
Eventually I gave Hannah a bath and put her down for bed, which took her some time to actually fall asleep. Sarah and I sat up til nearly 1am talking. Hannah and I shared a bed, and that first night I woke her up when I went to bed, so I was in and out of sleep til 2:30a telling Hannah to go to sleep! But then we slept fine through about 7:30!
Saturday we decided we would go to the Pacific Science Center. We knew it might be busy with the Harry Potter exhibit, but we gave it a shot. So glad we did. Hannah had a blast. I laughed and loved watching Hannah explore new things.
Butterfly house. . . Hannah was so cute- she's not gentle ore slow by any means so I ended up having to carry her through this so she wouldn't harm any butterflies. But she did enjoy watching them flutter around and sitting on flowers. It was a good time.
I probably have a better pic on the camera, but the water guns you can aim at pinwheel type things and Hannah enjoyed trying to do it.
My favorite Seattle location. When I lived and worked in Seattle. . . this was one place I enjoyed visiting. The music that plays, the fountain show. . . Hannah seemed to enjoy herself too.Hannah had a short nap in the car on the way back to Sarah's house. Then that night Paul bbq'd (mmm good stuff) and a friend of his brought over his 3 and 5 year old boys. Hannah loved the boys toys (bugs and dinosaurs). The men watched football, the women and kids watched disney movies and played WII ( a 5 year old beat me at boxing and baseball!).
Saturday night was much better, more sleep for sure.
Sunday was a lazy morning, breakfast chit chatting and sharing some special moments. Hannah was ready to go home, so finally I packed up and we headed home. Hannah was ready for an early nap. We stopped in Castle Rock for a late lunch and then on to home. Overall was a great trip. I look forward to continueing this friendship and making trips to visit Sarah and Paul.
J.
