I have a back log of things to blog about.
I have a back log of photos to share.
None of those matter in this moment right now.
I have 2 days left at my current employment- I'm transferring with in the agency to a new site. I will do the same job- but 26 miles closer to home. I will work with similar clients- but 26 miles closer to home.
This has been a hard time at work with all 3 of the case managers leaving at the same time. One for financial reasons, one for distance from home reasons, and one for returning to school in San Fran reasons. Ultimately all life choices that have to be made. The remaining staff has been supportive of these decisions. Though the clients are taking the news a bit hard and making some poor coping skill choices. . . including relapsing. . . committing crimes. . . and just not being on a path of healthy recovery living.
Today I said my farewells to my supervisor as she won't be in the office the next two days. I have 2 days left of commuting 39 miles one way!
I look forward to being home around 5pm daily. Being able to cook dinner, being able to have time to play with my family after dinner, having time to go for walks with my darling girl, to just be in my home and give my family and home the attention it deserves to have. Yes I will go back to working 5 days a week- but I really don't mind that at all. Because my commute will be less.
I'm processing my goodbyes, and it's hard to say them. But I'm finding it a good time to tell people what they have meant to me and how I've enjoyed working with them.
