I feel the need to come here and write out something. Yet there is not much to ramble on about.
The things I want to ramble about, well I'm limited in what I can say due to laws and rules.
I am fully on board with my new job. My credentials have been approved and needless to say as one of 3 Mental Health Professionals that is also a Chemical Dependencey Professional I'm going to be busy. I currently have about 24 clients, and a full caseload is considered 40. In order to meet my productivity requirements I need to plan to spend about 24 hours week with clients. That doesn't sound like that much, but when it's squeezed in between random meetings and appointments, and when it's often back to back services for 6 hours a day it feels overwhelming at times.
I'm getting smarter about utilizing my time and efficiency is important to me. We have interview rooms that we meet with clients in. We have cubicles to do work. My cubicle houses 4 staff (currently 3, ones out on maternity leave for awhile longer). I don't feel as productive there, so I'm learning that there are some days when I can request to reserve an interview room to get phone calls and paperwork done without interuptions!
I'm learning quickly where I fit in with this crowd and that some see me as a "brown noser" because my perfectionism in my work is causing me to do things a bit differently than most. But I don't mind. At least they know I'm a hard worker and willing to focus!
In the home front- if only I could find the energy to put as much effort into my home! Life has been hectic. I feel productive if I can manage to do the dishes every night, and have the living room clean! Chasing after a nearly 3 1/2 year old when nearly 6 months pregnant is well exhausting.
We have so little time til Addison joins us later this year. I don't feel prepared. I don't feel like I have the time I had with Hannah to make her lovely things and prepare a space for her. Well granted Addison won't have her own space for awhile. In our itty bitty place she is just going to learn to be flexible. She is expected to share our room in a pack n play, for lack of other space right now. I don't want to impose on Hannah, since she sleeps so well and because she's not ever known having to share her room, I don't want to start that just yet. There are talkings of moving next summer, but again we aren't sure. We are waiting to see how things go in the next year and make a decision down the road.
Iye- I need to share some photos. Too bad I don't have any uploaded right now. I will put that on my ever growing to do list and hope it can be done in the upcoming week or so.
Love, J.
