A great weekend

Ahh Monday... actually a welcomed sight after our weekend.

Saturday was Jason's birthday, which ended up being a busy day. We had a De Paul function to go to near Oregon City. Of course most of my office was there and few from Downtown made it too. Hannah got to meet and play with a little girl named Suzie who is 13 months old, so just a bit bigger. This little girl is walking all on her own. Well Suzie was trying to be nice, gave Hannah her binky that she had dropped, and then Suzie was trying to hug her or something and in the process Hannah got tackled and ended up with a big goose egg on her forehead. But she was just fine!

We dropped Hannah off at her Nana and Papa's on our way home. So was about 3:30ish. This would be Hannah's first time staying over night there. She has been there plenty during the day, but this would be a new adventure. We headed home where Jason's friend was waiting for us. We changed and decided we would head in to Portland early and get dinner before the game. So to Red Robins we went. Of course we had to tell them it was Jason's birthday and he got sung to and icecream (which he shared with both of us!). We had dinner and drinks then walked the about 6 blocks to the Colisium. There we saw the Portland Winterhawks vs Seattle Thunderbirds... yes folks a Hockey game.
We saw 2 fights break out on the ice. They went into over time, and Portland lost 3-4 in sudden death overtime. Overall it was a great game though, very fun to watch.

Afterwards we decided we would go into downtown portland and see what was going on. We stopped in at Kelly's Olympian bar, with very cool motorcycles hanging from the ceiling, we asked about pool around town, only to find out that just around the corner is Portland's largest pool hall. So we walked a bit further and found Rialto's. We had a drink and played some pool.

We were back on the Max and headed home around 11:50ish. We ended up staying up til 3am, watching movies at the house after a busy day. Overall it was a good day for Jason's birthday, and one that he seemed to enjoy just as much.

We picked Hannah up yesterday around Noon, she had not slept well at all for Nana. But they survived. Hannah did go right back into her bedtime routine last night, so that was a good thing.

Tell Debbie us grandma's have got to figure out the secret to getting that little girl to sleep. Maybe she just needs her own bed and bouncing to another one isn't her cup of tea. I missed her but knew Nana was having a great time.
